DIN 5.5

DIN 5 is an advanced single-phase, two-wire, multi-function, split-type (keypad-based), anti-tamper, bottom-wired smart energy meter. DIN 5 fully complies with the STS standard and is a suitable product for residential or commercial customers in utility companies to carry out prepayment business processes. DIN 5 has excellent anti-tamper features, such as an anti-bypass function (measuring energy using two sensors in the phase and neutral circuits and recording the larger value) and a terminal cover open detection sensor. It can utilize different communication media to connect to the CIU or data concentrator (for smart metering applications) via PLC, cable, or RF, based on customer requirements. The meter consists of two parts: the MCU (Metering & Control Unit) and the CIU (Customer Interface Unit).
